Repositioning a weekly magazine around anticipation, ritual and emotional ownership.

Take a Break

A weekly magazine competing for attention in an always-on world needed more than product messaging. It needed to reconnect readers with the feeling they already had every Thursday: looking forward to their next issue.

Take a Break isn't just something people read.
It's something they anticipate.

Across supermarkets, salons and bus stops, we noticed everyday moments where people are physically waiting but mentally somewhere else.
Those pauses became the emotional territory for the campaign.

The platform was designed to scale beyond a single advert.

Different everyday waiting moments became canvases for different editorial pillars—true-life stories, puzzles, prizes, community, subscriptions and seasonal editions—creating a flexible campaign system rather than a one-off execution.

The project demonstrates my approach to creative direction: finding the human truth, building a scalable platform and refining execution without compromising the idea.
